Kriti Sanon to play the female lead in Thalapathy 66?

Even as Beast is gearing up for a release in April, the buzz for Thalapathy 66 is getting stronger by the day. The film directed by Vamshi Paidipally, we hear, will have its puja during the Ugadi weekend, on April 2, and will begin shooting from the first week of the month. There is a buzz that a huge set is being erected in ECR for the film.

As for the film's female lead, there has been a lot of speculation about it. Initially, Rashmika Mandanna's name has been doing the rounds as Vijay's love interest in the film. Later, there were rumours that Tamannaah is the film's heroine and that she will be paired opposite him after a long gap (she last worked with Vijay in Sura). And now, sources close to the film's team say that Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon will be making her Tamil debut with this project. Looks like a lot of names are doing the rounds and fans can't wait for an official confirmation.

With Vijay touted to be playing a dual role - a youthful guy and another as someone who suffers from Erotomania, the buzz is that there will be two heroines for the film. Prakash Raj is also part of the project and will be playing an important role. Actor Vivek Oberoi, too, is in talks to play the negative lead. S Thaman will be scoring music for the project.
