Dhanush says yes to become Thalapathy Vijay's villain?

Tamil cinema over the years has been following a strict template for the heroes to always be good beyond doubt and villains who are all dark. The past decade or so there has been a shift in the thinking and a few heroes have boldly played villains and succeeded too.

In recent times Vijay Sethupathi who is at the peak of his career played the villain against top heroes Madhavan, Rajinikanth, Vijay and Kamal Haasan in 'Vikram Vedha', 'Petta', 'Master' and 'Vikram' respectively. In 'Vikram', Suriya who has the cleanest image both onscreen and offscreen has played the ruthless drug kingpin Rolex to thunderous response from the audiences and elevating the collections of the film.

Now there is a strong buzz that Dhanush is in talks to play the villain against Thalapathy Vijay in 'Thalapathy 67' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. It is said that much like Rolex the character that Dhanush plays will be a powerful one. There is no official confirmation on this news yet but who wouldnt want the powerhouse talents Vijay and Dhanush in the same movie. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Dhanush's upcoming lineup of films include 'Thiruchitrambalam' produced by Sun Pictures, 'The Gray Man' directed by The Russo Brothers releasing on Netflix on July 15th and 'Naane Varuven' directed by Selvaraghavan. He is currently shooting for 'Vaathi/Sir' directed by Venky Atluri and will soon start shooting for 'Captain Miller' directed by Arun Matheshwaran.
