Vijay works on his birthday after a gap of 10 years

 The first-look posters of Thalapathy Vijay’s new film, now titled Varisu, have been released by the film’s makers on his birthday. Shooting of the Vamshi Paidipally directorial, which will hit screens for Pongal 2023, has been going on in full swing, and we hear that Vijay spent his birthday, yesterday, shooting for this project.

The star, who usually takes a break from work on his birthday, has apparently shot for the film on his special day after 10 years. And with yesterday’s shoot, the team has managed to wrap up the second schedule.

A source tells us, “It has been 10 years since Vijay shot for a film on his birthday. This time, he had already allotted dates for the film and didn’t want to skip shoot on Wednesday as it was the last day of the schedule.”

The source informs that around 45 per cent of the film’s shoot is now over. “The next schedule will start in July, and the team is planning on wrapping up the film by September. The shooting will continue to happen in both Chennai and Hyderabad,” adds the source.

We hear that a huge set of a house has been erected in Hyderabad for the film’s next schedule. “The house set is bigger than most houses we’ve seen in films. It is even bigger than the one that was featured in Vamshi’s Thozha,” says the source.

Apart from the talkie portions, two more songs are left to be shot. The team has already shot one song featuring Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna. The music for the film is being composed by S Thaman.
