Yash: It's not "K.G.F vs Beast" but "K.G.F and Beast", let's celebrate cinema as a whole
The grand trailer launch event of 'KGF 2' saw a massive turnout of celebrities, film fraternity giants, and media professionals from all across the country. As the much-awaited trailer made its way out in five different languages, fans and media couldn't help but shower praise on the team responsible for the upcoming magnum opus. In this very vein, the team also sat down with the media to address certain key points about the making of the film and its upcoming release.
And when Rocking Star Yash was asked about the impending box office clash between 'K.G.F: Chapter 2' and the Tamil film 'Beast' (starring Vijay), the actor had a most sensible response in hand. "You know, I would like to believe that it's never 'K.G.F vs Beast' but 'K.G.F and Beast' because this isn't an election. If it were to be something like an election, where a person has only one vote to cast then it's inevitable that someone wins and the other loses. But that's not the case here because fans will get the opportunity to watch both films. See, we had announced our release date almost eight months ago and for Vijay sir too, the date happens to be festive season so both decisions are justified."
"And look at his legacy - he has been an entertainer for so many years and I have personally been a huge fan of his work all along. The moment one starts to believe that they are bigger than their seniors, that's when their downfall begins. He is what he is today because of the hard work he has put in over the years - and I am sure we will all celebrate his movie and his fans too will love 'K.G.F'. It's time we put these notions of competition away and celebrate cinema in general (sic)," said Yash during the press conference.
'Beast' and 'K.G.F: Chapter 2' were scheduled to release on the same day (April 14th) but the makers of the former have now chosen to release their film a day earlier, on the 13th of April, and leverage the head start.
