 Vijay Thalapathy collaborated with the director Vamsi Paidipally for his upcoming bilingual movie Vaarasudu. The film is being shot in Telugu and Tamil. It is scheduled to hit the screens during Sankranti 2023. The producer of the film Dil Raju is busy closing the non theatrical deals.  The latest news is that the post theatrical streaming rights of the movie have been acquired by the international OTT giant Amazon Prime Video. The film is currently in its shooting phase and it is much awaited. National crush Rashmika Mandanna is the female lead alongside Vijay Thalapathy. Vaarasudu is a proper commercial family entertainer and the film includes a huge cast. The film is titled Vaarasudu in Telugu and Varisu in Tamil. Vaarasudu marks Vijay Thalapathy’s Telugu debut. 

According to the latest reports in the industry, Thalapathy Vijay’s next film with Lokesh Kanagaraj has been planned on a huge stage, with the team getting through the final stage of the script and starting off with the pre-production process now. Rathna Kumar, who has associated with Lokesh in both Master and Vikram, is working on this film as well. The team is already making big inroads to get in big names for the casting process of the film, which is expected to have names from neighbouring states as well. Lokesh Kanagaraj plans to take the film on floors by December, once Vijay gets done with his work completely for Varisu.

Actor Vijay on Friday got major relief from the Madras High Court in a case related to his import of a luxury BMW car from the US, ruling that he would be liable to pay the penalty for delayed payment of entry tax only from January 29, 2019, to December 2021 and not from 2005. A bench of Justice R. Suresh Kumar said that Vijay was liable to pay an entry tax as a division bench of the court had, on January 29, 2019, held that the state government was entitled to levy entry tax. The bench, however, said that the Commercial Taxes Department should not have demanded a huge amount of Rs 30.23 lakh towards penalty, by levying it in 2005 and that the fine may be levied from January 29, 2019. Vijay had approached the court in January 2022 and had challenged a notice issued by the Commercial Taxes Department, on September 17, 2021, asking him to pay Rs 7.98 lakh as entry tax along with penalty of Rs 30.23 lakh.
